Parentinn's Scholarship 2016 has achieved a major impact on raising awareness of Cyberbullying to all students, we decided to increase the prize pool up $2500 this year.

In an effort to the cause of preventing cyberbullying, we have created the “Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship” for High School students.

Award: $1250 for High School students.

OCCC ACT NOW Scholarship
Deadline: Various
The ACT NOW scholarship is offered as an automatic merit-based tuition waiver program for the 2016 graduating class of high school students. The waiver amounts are based on the student's composite score on the national ACT. Students who score a 21 are eligible for a 3 hour credit tuition waiver. Scores of 22 - 23 receive a 6 hour credit tuition waiver, scores of 24-26 will receive a 9 hour credit tuition waiver, and scores of 27-30 will receive a 12 hour credit tuition waiver. Students with exceptional scores a 31 or higher will receive a 15 hour credit tuition waiver. All waivers are per semester; freshman year only.

Provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.

McNair Scholars Program

Scholarship program is designed to prepare students for careers as graduate students, professors or professional researchers. Must be full time student, with 42 hours or more completed, 3.0 GPA & first generation college student or student from an underrepresented ethnic group.

Oklahoma City Community Foundation

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation is home to more than 120 scholarship funds established by individuals, organizations and companies. Varsity Tutors Scholarship
Deadline: Monthly
Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship.

Chuan Ai Lu Engstrom Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current, full-time students at an accredited American university or college with a minimum GPA of at least 2.5. Applicant must submit an essay on a given topic related to the global economy.

Raise Me Up Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to current undergraduate and graduate students who have parents who are divorced and/or been raised in a single-parent household. Applicant must submit an essay or video on their family.

CIA Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Amount: Up to $18,000
Closing Date: August 14, 2017
Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors or college freshmen and sophomores who are at least 18 years of age and U.S. citizens. Applicant must have financial need. Applicants selected for the program will complete work sessions during each summer break in Washington, D.C. If selected, student will be given an annual salary, benefits package and up to $18,000 per calendar year for tuition, mandatory fees, books and supplies.

Make Me Laugh Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students 13 years of age or older who are legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and who are currently enrolled (or will enroll no later than the fall of 2023) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Description: Scholarship is open to students who are residents of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or U.S. Territories and are 16 years of age or older and are either enrolled now, or will be enrolled within three months of registration in a qualified high school, college or university in the United States.

 

Camera Runner Photography Scholarship

Everyone knows how to take a picture with their phone or camera, but only a person who is truly interested in photography can feel if a shot will make a good picture or not. Camera Runner provides reviews of cameras and camera gear to help people take better pictures. Applicants must submit an essay explaining what they like about photography and include a favorite picture they’ve taken.

Eligibility:

  • Enrolled in an accredited U.S. high school, college, or university
  • Part-time and full-time students may apply
  • No specific field of study is required

Award: One $500 scholarship

Discover Student Loans Scholarships

Discover Student Loans wants to help you pay for college! By completing a short application, students are entered into a scholarship sweepstakes. Applicants can earn three additional sweepstakes entries by referring friends through email, Twitter, and Facebook. Scholarship winners will be randomly selected.

  • Resident of the United States
  • At least 16 years old
  • High school senior or college student enrolled at least half-time

Mirror Message Scholarship

Make the world happier, starting with your school! Seven out of ten girls believe they don’t measure up in some way. Join a movement of DoSomething.org members spreading positivity in their schools. Post encouraging sticky notes on mirrors in bathrooms, a place that can trigger low self-esteem. Upload pictures of the positive notes you’ve posted and be entered to win the scholarship.

Eligibility:

  • Reside in the U.S.
  • No citizenship requirement
  • Younger than 26 years old

AfterCollege Vocational & Trade Study Scholarship

AfterCollege believes that what's good for students is good for everyone: schools, employers, community and other students! That’s why they not only help students find jobs and internships but also offer scholarships to help fund their education. Students must submit a personal statement that describes their goals. Students may also upload an introductory video.

Eligibility:

  • 18 years of age or has submitted a parental consent form
  • Legal resident of the United States
  • Currently enrolled students working toward a certificate, diploma, associate or bachelor’s degree provided by a post-secondary institution such as a community college, career, vocational or trade school
  • Fields of study may include IT, Web Development Programming, Business Management, Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Nurse Assistant, Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Criminal Justice or Paralegal Studies

Skin Care Ox’s mission is to simplify the world of skin care by creating the most informative, high quality skin care guides, product reviews and advice available on the web. Don't Text and Drive Scholarship

According to the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, texting while driving makes drivers 23 times more likely to get into a “safety-critical event.” The purpose of this scholarship is to help students understand the risks of texting while driving. Applicants must submit a 140-character message pledging to not text and drive. Finalists will be asked to write a 500 to 1,000 word essay about texting while driving.

Eligibility:

  • High school freshmen through seniors or current college or graduate students
  • Citizen or legal resident of the United States

Award: One $1,000 scholarship

Staples is helping students head back to school with the chance to win a college scholarship and a trip to see Lady Gaga in concert. Students can apply online if they’ve made qualifying purchases. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. Selected from a nationwide pool of applicants, up to 40 students will become Jack Kent Cooke Scholars and have access to funding for up to four years for undergraduate studies. This highly competitive scholarship includes: Up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school, Ability to pursue any area of study, Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid, and Multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the college student experience. Eligibility: (1) Plan to graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2018. (2) Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college or university beginning in fall 2018. (3) Earn a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above. (4) SAT combined critical reading and math score of 1200 or above and/or ACT composite score of 26 or above. The Hagan Scholarship Foundation

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide, need based merit scholarship for rural students who will require financial assistance to attend college. These students will graduate from a public high school located in a county in the United States having fewer than 50,000 residents. Three hundred fifty scholarships can be awarded each year. Eligibility: (1) Must be a U.S. Citizen. (2) Must attend an Eligible Public High School; see List of Eligible Public High Schools. (3) Must be a student in the 2018 high school graduating class. (4) Must have achieved a high school CGPA of 3.50 or higher. (5) Must have scored 23 or higher on the ACT (Composite Score); or 1,200 on the SAT. (6) Must enroll in a four-year college the first semester following high school graduation. Awards to be given at the Academic Awards Banquet in May include: a $1,000 scholarship to each of the 100 Academic All-State scholars selected from Oklahoma's public high school graduating seniors; a $5,000 cash award and Medal for Excellence to five public school educators, one each at the elementary, secondary, community college/regional university and research university levels. The Capital Alliance scholarship was created to help students interested in higher education reach their goal of attending college or university. Kids' Chance of Oklahoma Scholarship

To be eligible for a Kids' Chance of Oklahoma, Inc. scholarship, applicants must have a parent who has been seriously or fatally injured in a workplace accident in the state of Oklahoma.  Applicants must demonstrate financial need and meet the following requirements: (1) Must be between the ages of 17 and 25 at the time of disbursement of the scholarship award. (2) May be married or single. (3) Reside in the state of Oklahoma. (4) Have a high school diploma, GED, or be a high school senior. Academic achievement, student government involvement, aptitude, extracurricular activities, and community service of the applicant are considered. (5) Maintain a GPA of 2.5. (6) Must be enrolled as a full- or part-time student at an accredited institution in the United States:  a university or college to obtain a bachelor's or master's degree; a junior/community college to obtain an associate's degree; or a career tech school to obtain certification or license. The amount of each Kids' Chance of Oklahoma, Inc. scholarship award is decided by the Scholarship Committee and Board of Directors.  The award will be paid directly to the education institution.   The award is contingent upon available funds.

National Space Club and Foundation Keynote Scholar Application

Since 2013, The National Space Club and Foundation has offered the opportunity for a student to give the keynote address at the National Space Club and Foundation's annual Goddard Memorial Dinner, one of the space industry's most prestigious gatherings. The student must intend to pursue a career in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) fields, be academically strong and excel in public speaking. In addition to speaking at the Goddard Memorial Dinner, the individual selected will also receive a scholarship, in the amount of $10,000. This scholarship is awarded to a U.S. citizen, and is open to seniors in High School through graduate students studying at an accredited educational institution in the United States, who has definite plans to pursue a career in the STEM fields. Eligibility: (1) The applicant must be a U.S. citizen. (2) The scholarship is open to seniors in high school through graduate students. (3) The applicant must have the intention of pursuing a career in the STEM fields and plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university to follow a course of study to pursue a career in the STEM field, with a preference for those with space related interests. (4) The applicant can only use the $10,000.00 scholarship towards tuition for the 2018-2019 academic year. (5) The applicant must not have previously spoken at the Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner. (6) The applicant may apply for any of the scholarships offered by the National Space Club and Foundation (Robert H. Goddard Memorial Scholarship, Olin E Teague Scholarship, Keynote Scholarship) in the same year, but may only win one in the same year.

We want to provide financial assistance to a selected college student who has either been affected by family separation in their own life, or who intends to pursue a career that will have a positive impact on separated families. The selected student will receive an award of $500 for use toward tuition, books, or living expenses. Eligibility: (1) An existing college student or incoming freshman (to be enrolled in the fall of 2017 in good academic standing)
. (2) Attending any school, college or university as a full-time student. (3) Complete and submit the application form. Judging will be based on the submission quality of the application, which will include a short, 1000 word or less on: Problems faced by children of separated families, and how to overcome them.

When it comes to higher education for promising scholars, Lime Connect and Google don’t want anything to stand in the way. Google is committed to helping the innovators of the future make the most of their talents by providing scholarships and networking retreats for computer science students with disabilities.  Recipients of the 2018 Google Lime Scholarship will each receive a scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic year. Selected students will also be invited to attend the annual Google Scholars' Retreat at the Googleplex in Mountain View, California, in summer 2018. The Mock Interview team desires to give back to the communities they grew up in. This scholarship is designed to support students as they pursue education beyond high school. I Have a Dream Scholarship

Did you have a dream that was off-the-wall, or maybe it was so real that you didn't know you were dreaming? Maybe you dream of a successful future or reaching your goals. Whatever your dreams might be, they could help you receive a scholarship for your college education. Applicants for Unigo’s scholarship must submit an essay of 250 words or less describing what they dream about.

Eligibility:

  • 13 years of age or older
  • Legal resident of the United States or the District of Columbia
  • Enroll in post-secondary education no later than fall 2024

Award: One $1,500 scholarship

Return to College Scholarship

Return to College strives to help students find a school and degree program that’s the right fit for them. They also provide resources for adults returning to school. Scholarship applicants must write a three sentence essay explaining why they are pursuing a college degree. Students may submit multiple entries.

  • Currently attending or will start a program of higher education within the next 12 months
  • 17 years of age or older

As a lawyer, attorney Seth Okin wakes up every day ready to serve and defend the rights of his clients. Mr. Okin is steadfast in his belief that people should attempt to do more than a single good deed per-day, endorsing a life anchored in activism and centered on service. The winner of the contest will be awarded a scholarship that will enable him or her to pursue educational goals with the ultimate purpose of creating a meaningful life of service to others.

February Scholarships

 

AFA Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness College Scholarship

In an effort to provide an outlet for teenagers to express their thoughts about Alzheimer’s disease and to engage the younger generation in this cause, AFA (Alzheimer’s Foundation of America) is pleased to offer the AFA Teens for Alzheimer’s Awareness College Scholarship—an annual $5,000 scholarship awarded to one deserving college-bound student each year. The deadline for applications is February 15 of each year. This scholarship provides an excellent opportunity for college-bound students to give thoughtful consideration to the impact Alzheimer’s disease has on their own lives and others in their family and community. Students are required to submit an autobiography and write a 1,200 to 1,500 word essay that answers the following questions:

  • How has Alzheimer’s disease changed or impacted your life?
  • What have you learned about yourself, your family and/or your community in the face of coping with Alzheimer’s disease?

AFA will award a $5,000 scholarship to the grand-prize winner, a $2,500 award to the first runner-up and a $1,500 award to the second runner-up. An honorable mention award of $500 will also be included.

Boren Awards

Boren Scholarships, an initiative of the National Security Education Program, provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Boren Scholars represent a vital pool of highly motivated individuals who wish to work in the federal national security arena. In exchange for funding, Boren Scholars commit to working in the federal government for at least one year after graduation.

Award Amounts

Maximum scholarship awards are:

  • $8,000 for a summer program (special initiative for STEM students only; 8 weeks minimum)
  • $10,000 for a semester
  • $20,000 for 6 - 12 months

The Fisher House Foundation Scholarships for Military Children

The Scholarships for Military Children Program was created in recognition of the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force and to celebrate the role of the commissary in the military family community. A total of 700 scholarship grants, each for $2,000, will be awarded for school year 2017-18. There will be at least one recipient selected at every commissary location where qualified applications are received, and additional recipients will be selected based on a prorate basis, so more applicants will be selected from those commissaries with larger numbers of applicants.

GameAuthority’s 2018 Scholarship

GameAuthority is proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship for applicants enrolled in a graduate program, undergraduate program or be a high school senior (one year prior to college) that has a valid acceptance letter to attend a university. This scholarship is offered yearly and we hope to provide winners with the extra edge they need to help succeed in a U.S. college.

Helen McCloy Scholarship

What Is It? The Helen McCloy/MWA Scholarship for Mystery Writing seeks to nurture talent in mystery writing—in fiction, nonfiction, playwriting, and screenwriting.

Who May Apply? The scholarship is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents only. The McCloy Scholarship is intended for serious aspiring mystery writers who wish to improve their writing skills. Applicants should not have received monetary compensation for novels, short stories, non-fiction, screenplays or play scripts in the crime-writing genre.

How Shall the Scholarship Be Used? The scholarship shall be used to offset tuition and fees for writing workshops, writing seminars, or university/college-level writing programs taking place in the U.S. in summer, fall or winter of 2018 or early spring 2019. Applicants must select a specific writing class/workshop/seminar to which scholarship funds would be applied.  To be eligible, the chosen writing program must require the applicant to produce writing and to have writing critiqued. Writing conferences featuring only panels and agent conferences are not eligible.

What Is the Scholarship Amount? MWA will present two scholarships for up to $500 each.

The LAGRANT Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships

The LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) was established in 1998 by Mr. Kim L. Hunter to address the lack of diversity in the advertising, marketing and public relations fields. TLF provides scholarships, career development workshops, professional development, mentors and internships to African American/Black, American Indian/Native American, Asian American/Pacific Islander and Hispanic/Latino undergraduate and graduate students. Undergraduate (current freshmen, sophomores, juniors and non-graduating seniors ONLY!) applicants meeting the following criteria and completing the application will be considered for The LAGRANT Foundation (TLF) scholarship in the amount of $2,000.

Criteria:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident or be an AB-540 student/DACA recipient
  • Must be a member of one of the following ethnic groups: African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/Alaska Native
  • Must be a full-time student at a four-year, accredited institution within the U.S., carrying a total of 12 units or more per semester/quarter
  • Must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA (if you do not meet this requirement, please see the application checklist)
  • MUST major in a field of study that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public relations
  • Must have at least one year to complete his/her degree from the time the scholarships are awarded in May 2018
  • Recipients who attend a college/university east of Chicago MUST be available Saturday, May 19, 2018 through Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Recipients who attend a college/university west of Chicago MUST be available Saturday June 2, 2018 throughTuesday, June 5, 2018. If chosen, the applicant MUST attend TLF's scholarship activities to receive the scholarship. The applicant must make a one-year commitment to maintain contact with TLF to receive professional guidance and academic support

P.L.A.Y. (Pet Lifestyle And You) Scholars Helping Collars Scholarship

P.L.A.Y. has made a point to promote compassion towards animals in both our personal and professional lives. From working directly with local shelters to donating products to animals in need through our Warm Bellies Initiative with the Petfinder Foundation, animal welfare has always been a staple of our business. We know there are plenty of young minds out there that are equally passionate about helping animals in need. In an effort to encourage them and promote this cause, P.L.A.Y. will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who best exemplifies our core beliefs.

How To Enter

To apply, students will submit an essay with 2-3 photos of their volunteer efforts to help animals in need and how that involvement has changed their lives or shaped their perceptions on the importance of animal welfare.

  • The essay should be between 500-1000 words.
  • Send a Word doc attachment to scholarship@petplay.com with your essay submission.
  • The file name should be your full name, state, and date of birth. For example, Chipper-Jones-GA-4-24-1992
  • 2-3 photos of your volunteer efforts to help animals in need

Big things come in small packages and now, those simple gifts can really pay off in the Sweet and Simple Scholarship! Unigo will award a $1,500 scholarship for the best 250-word essay answering this question: "Not every gift has to be expensive or extravagant. In fact, sometimes it's the sweet and simple things that make a real difference in our lives. Think back and tell us about something you received as a gift and why it meant so much to you."

March Scholarships

 

Annie's Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship

At Annie’s, we recognize that agriculture contributes to some of our most pressing sustainability challenges.

Annie’s Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship Program is open to full time undergraduate and graduate students studying at an accredited two or four year college or graduate school in the U.S. for the 2018/2019 school year. Students must be focusing studies on sustainable and regenerative agriculture. International students may apply if they are attending a U.S. school.

Requirements 

  • Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled at an accredited higher education institution in the U.S. as a full-time student for the Fall 2018 semester.
  • Graduate applicants must be enrolled at an accredited higher education institution in the U.S. and enrolled for at least 9 credits for the Fall 2018 semester.
  • If awarded a scholarship, student agrees that funds will be utilized for school needs only, such as room and board, books, and tuition. Funds cannot be used as personal income.
  • If awarded a scholarship, student agrees to share learnings and outcomes of supported project(s) with Annie’s and broader school community within one academic year of receiving funds. Annie’s will provide guidance on the format and delivery of these learnings at a future date.
  • If awarded a scholarship, student is invited to join the network of Annie’s Sustainable Agriculture Scholars and encouraged to participate in optional events and programs.

Award Amount: 20 awards of $10,000

Doodle 4 Google Contest

Students in grades K-12 are invited to take part in the 2018 Doodle 4 Google contest, and create an uplifting doodle that tells the world “What inspires me.” From crayons to clay, graphic design, or even food, young artists can utilize any materials to bring their creation to life. Like all Google Doodles, each doodle must incorporate the letters G-o-o-g-l-e. One national winner will receive a $30,000 college scholarship, a $50,000 technology package for their school/non-profit organization, and a behind-the-scenes experience with the Doodle team to transform their Doodle into an interactive experience on Google.com.

The Greater Oklahoma City Alumnae Panhellenic Foundation is awarding fourteen (14) $1,500.00 scholarships to high school senior women meeting the following criteria:

  1. Will graduate from a public or private high school in the greater Oklahoma City area.
  2. Will be attending a University in the state of Oklahoma with National Panhellenic Conference sorority affiliations in the fall of 2018. Hike & Cycle Scholarship

Hikers often negatively impact the surrounding environment without even knowing it by transporting invasive species, disturbing wildlife, leaving waste, etc. We’re inspired by the Leave No Trace principles and want to encourage every backpacker to follow these rules.

The Hike & Cycle Scholarship is all about raising environmental awareness among youth by giving them a solid incentive in the form of a scholarship. What we are trying to achieve here is to make more people understand that the environment is in dire need of their attention and help.

Requirements:

  • You must be currently enrolled in high school, university, or college. Applications from all countries are accepted.
  • You must create an original list of nature-saving rules.
  • The winners will be required to send us proof of their educational status.

Award Amount: The first place winner will get $1,000 and the second place will get $500.

National Independent Automobile Dealers Association Foundation Scholarship

The NIADA Foundation proudly sponsors four young men or women each year who have displayed outstanding abilities in education. These students will each receive a $3,500 scholarship sponsored by Manheim to the college or university of their choice. Four regional scholarships are awarded annually at the National NIADA Convention in June.

Eligibility Criteria: 
You must

  1. Be classified as a high school senior during the current 2017-18 school year and legally residing in one of the 4 regions indicated above.
  2. Have maintained an outstanding academic achievement record as reflected by an official high school transcript; and
  3. Demonstrate an aptitude for college work as measured by SAT or ACT scores.

Application Requirements:

  1. Write an essay (minimum of 1,200 words) regarding the changes that online shopping have made to the car buying experience.
  2. Official high school transcript
  3. SAT or ACT Scores Report—may be included on the transcript.
  4. Letter(s) of recommendation (no more than 5) from high school counselor, principal, teacher, employer, etc.

Oklahoma State Fair Scholarship

The Oklahoma State Fair, Inc., scholarship program provides collegiate scholarships to students who are graduates of an accredited high school or homeschool located in one of the 77 Oklahoma counties.

Ten (10) scholarship winners will be selected for a one-time $2,500 award based on overall scholastic performance, leadership, community involvement and verifiable participation in the competitive programs (e.g. horse, livestock, creative arts or other competitions) at the Oklahoma State Fair, if applicable. While State Fair participation is not mandatory, it will be weighted along with the other criteria during the selection process.

At the time the award is made, the student must be a current year (2018) graduate of an accredited high school or homeschool from one of the 77 Oklahoma counties.

Before receiving the scholarship funds, the student will have been accepted and enrolled in a qualified, accredited college, university, vocational or technical school as a full-time student. Full-time enrollment is defined as 12 semester-credit hours during the fall/spring semester.

Religious Liberty Essay Scholarship Contest

Students can win up to $2,000 for college by writing an essay discussing whether public school calendars should accommodate religious holidays in the 2018 Religious Liberty Essay Scholarship Contest. To enter, students must write an 800-1,200 word essay responding to the following prompt:

  • In most public high schools, certain days are marked as religious holidays on the school calendar, and the schools are closed on those days.  As public schools become more diverse, some students’ religious holy day(s) are not days that the schools are closed, resulting in absences for those students.
  • In an essay, discuss whether public school calendars should accommodate religious holidays.
  • Consider how school administrators should determine if, or which, religious holy days are included in the school calendar, or if any school policies should be changed to better accommodate students’ religious exercise. Be sure your essay identifies how the First Amendment supports your position.

Award: The grand prize is a $2,000 scholarship and a trip for two to Washington, D.C. Prizes of $1,000 for the second place winner and $500 for the third place winner are also available.

Seniors Helping Seniors Scholarship

Bay Alarm Medical is proud to announce its 3rd annual scholarship program. This year we again seek to reward students who devote their time to improving the lives of our senior citizens. Our 2018 scholarship award is our biggest yet: three scholarships totaling $6,500. 1st place: $3,500, 2nd place: $2,000, 3rd place: $1,000.

To be eligible for one of our scholarship awards, you must be involved in a community service effort/volunteer opportunity where you work with the elderly OR participate in caregiving duties for an elderly relative living in your home.

Requirements: 
Write a 500-1,000 word essay that answers the following three questions:

  • What is the most important lesson you’ve learned from the senior you work with?
  • How has working with seniors impacted your life/inspired you?
  • How would you encourage others to spend more time with their grandparents or seniors in the community?

Scholarships will be awarded based on an essay contest. You must provide a photo of yourself and one of the seniors mentioned in your essay.

Superpower Scholarship

Have you ever wondered where you'd go if you could fly around downtown? Or maybe you daydream of secretly taking over the world - to each his own. For all of those hero lovers and villain enthusiasts, this super scholarship can give you the power to win free college money.

Use your imagination and become the superhero, or perhaps supervillain, you've always wanted to be. Would you live a life in a comic book universe or use your powers here in the real world? We want to know how you would use your super powers for good, or bad, even if it was just for the day. While we can't give you the ability to walk through walls or read minds, our Superpower Scholarship can help increase your brainpower with $2,500 to use towards education.

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2024) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education

Submit an online written response to the question:
Which superhero or villain would you want to change places with for a day and why?" (250 words or less)
